Dim Sum

Chinese Dim Sum dishes done right. One of our most popular Dim Sum dish is the Xiao Long Bao (Soup Dumpling). Pork filling wrapped with a thin, light, and chewy outer shell. These little dumpling are freshly steamed and filled with a savoury pork based broth. If there's one thing you have to try from the Shanghainese cuisine, this soup dumpling is it. A must order when you are having Dim Sum.

上海魚米之鄉,物產豐富,飲食又是生活中不可疏忽的一環,所以中國各地的小吃,若論花樣和口味精緻,首推上海。各款上海點心傳統如小籠包、生煎包、鮮肉小餛飩、葱油餅等等都能在阿拉廚房找到。我們主打的小籠包用上好的蟹粉和精確的火候,務求入口回甘清甜,不帶一絲膩味。

Braised Beef Noodle Soup is our most crowd pleasing noodle dish. The beef has been slow cooked to the point where its become so tender, it just melts nicely in your mouth. The thick Shanghai noodles are slightly chewy and have a nice bouncy texture to them. The two of these mixed in with the simple tasting yet deliciously medicinal soup is what makes this dish our best seller.

上海人愛吃麵,就連陽春麵看似簡單得只點綴零星的蔥花,也對湯底和麵質十分講究。阿拉廚房秉承老上海對面吃的要求,湯底用自家餚的高湯,麵底即用上好的高筋粉和高質量的雞蛋做到柔韌適中。來阿拉廚房一定要一嘗我們的陽春麵和招牌排骨麵。

Our Dong Po Rou is made with a classic recipe which requires all pork belly cuts to have a precise proportion of meat and fat in order to make them melt in your mouth without feeling greasy. Similarly, for our Lion Head Meatballs, it's all down to selecting high-quality meat cuts in order to create the delicate, creamy texture. The Chef

Executive Chef Fung has worked in Shanghai and Hong Kong honing his craft in the Shanghai cuisine. Raised in a family of chefs and working in restaurants througout Shanghai, Japan and Hong Kong, Chef Fung has gathered over 30 years of professional hospitality and culinary experience. In 1997 Chef Fung brought all his experiences from Shanghai to Toronto and opened up the very first ALA Kitchen, serving Markham and GTA authentic Shanghainese food ever since. He's appeared on television and radio cooking shows and had his recipes published in magazines. If you truely want a taste of Shanghai, ALA Kitchen is where you'll find it.

去過上海的都知道,上海人很愛吃。在上海那一條街都有琳瑯滿目,各色各樣的飯店,所以上海菜對廚藝的要求也相對上更加嚴格。上海菜以燒、蒸、煨、窩、炒并重。我們的主廚生於廚藝世家,有三十多年主理上海菜的經驗。1997年來多倫多後一直致力把推廣正宗傳統的上海菜,曾於數年間於電台雜誌分享他對做上海菜的心得。到近年亦不斷創新,希望能令更多海外的年輕人能夠品嘗到上海獨有的風味和菜式。
